Transducer specs for QuadraBeam PLUS/Tri Beam transducer |
|
I have the QuadraBeam PLUS/Tri Beam transom transducer (XNT 9 QB 90 T/710199-1) installed on my boat.
I was wondering if anyone knew what voltage and amperage the actual transducer element uses, or if anyone had any specs for the element?
I have the pinout for it - http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=Pq1NK_pA - thanks for posting that Humminbird_Greg!
Background: I've been using this transducer for a while, and now want to try to make my own driver for it. I'm an EE, but the lack of specifications available for it is holding me back.

If you wrote your own driver, how would you get it loaded into the box to be used?

I meant electrical driver - amplifier, pulse generator, pulse sensing

Good luck in finding this information. I don't think they make it available. I wanted to know the same type of information but for a different reason. I wanted to use a transducer made by a different manfacturer. The pinouts are sometimes available but according to Airmar if the impedence is not matched there is a risk of ruining both the transducer and the sonar unit. An Airmar rep said the information is not available to them. I was able to make use of an Airmar P48 and it works very well but that is no help to you.
I also corresponded with Greg Walters (Humminbird) and he was unable to obtain the information. If you make some progress on this, please post it.
