Post Recording doesn't maintain depth data Reply with quote
Does anyone know why the recordings from my 797 does not record the depth along with the side sonar? Everything else is recorded (boat heading, speed, coordinates, and the side image.)

Thanks

You probably need to update the firmware/software on your unit. The older original versions did not record depth. Not sure exactly when it changed, but somewhere around v3.950.

If you ARE running the latest version, we made need to look at some other issues.

Post Will check on the update Reply with quote
I made sure that the unit was updated before this last run, but I will check again or maybe reinstall the latest update. I remember seeing the depth on one of the first programs that displayed the side sonar image. I also remember measuring objects. This was way back in 2007-8 when I first logged on to this forum. Any more information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Robert,

I solved the recording problem. This also may be something that everyone needs to pay attention to with their units.

Our unit was mounted to the boat with one of the HB snap in mounting brackets. The plugs (power, GPS, Transducer) seemed to be loose in the mounting bracket. This caused periodic power loss, and GPS Signal loss. Either of these problems is a major inhibitor during the recording of any HB data.

Thanks to you and to Greg for your assistance.
