798 temp not working |
|
Just installed my 798c SI and everything works great except I get a message the transducer in not connected. I hold down <menu> at start and go to normal mode and it works just fine except no temp readouts. Also on the self test mode, it shows the temp 'unconnected'. Do you guys think this is a bad 'ducer or is there something I have missed?

Sounds like a bad temperature sensor in the transducer. If the unit does not ‘see’ a temperature sensor that it will try and detect the transducer in another manner (which is not always successful). If it cannot detect the transducer it assumes that there is not one connected and starts in the Simulator mode. Pressing the MENU button and than manually selecting “Normal” bypasses this and is the test we ask Customers to perform when we suspect a bad temperature sensor in the transducer. Call the 1-800-633-1468 Humminbird Customer Resource Center number and get them to send you a new transducer to replace the one you have.
