Has anyone had experience with logging the sonar data and the view slowing? I am trying to record the sonar logs, and see where I am going at the same time, and the sonar readings slow way down when recording.

Thanks

Yes this is a normal thing to happen as the processors in the unit are having to send the sonar recording data to the SD card and perform their normal functions of 2D sonar, Si sonar, Di sonar and GPS. Using a faster SD card will help this but only to a certain point.

Do you have a recommended SD card? My unit all but freezes when recording, and doesn't seem to proceed with the boat, even at very slow speeds.

I would look at getting a SanDisk Extreme III SD or SDHC card. If you are going to be doing a lot of sonar recording than get at least a 2GB sized card if not a 4GB card. Keep your recordings to 30 each (easier to back through later).
